About Us
We have runs and training sessions most days of the week
We meet for a club run every Wednesday evening during the autumn and winter at Penrith Rugby Club, Winters Park, and offer varying runs and sessions around the streets of Penrith. There are excellent changing and shower facilities at the Rugby Club and we meet informally in the club bar post-run.
On spring and summer Wednesday evenings we are more likely to go out into the glorious countryside nearby or further into the Pennines and the Lakeland fells (and we usually find a post-run pub).
Our Fells runners meet most Monday evenings for training on local hills, with a post-run refreshment in a local hostelry.
Additionally, we offer speed training, a Friday “de-stress” social, and daytime runs for those on flexible timetables or at the weekend.
Many of us are avid Park Runners and can be seen most Saturday mornings at Penrith Park Run.
Eden Runners have many different interests, including:
- Fell Running
- Road Running (5km to Marathons)
- Cross-Country & Trail Running
- Orienteering
- Mountain Marathons & Ultra Events
- Adventure Racing
We have club championships for Park Run and local roads, cross country and fell races, as well as fielding teams, for those feeling competitive. We also organize a number of our own successful events each year, including:
- Haweswater half marathon (March)
- Blencathra fell race (June)
- Acorn Bank 10k (September)
